Hi Harvey Newman and Bill Voorhees,
         Do you know something about this tow questions.

Question1:
       For the detection of pattern marker, SAS protocol describe the valid and invalid rule of detection as follows:

If the SAS dword mode is enabled, then during the Train_Tx-SNW if the phy’s receiver detects:
1) a differential high signal level for greater than or equal to 19 UIs less than or equal to 24 UIs; and
2) a differential low signal level for greater than or equal to 19 UIs less than or equal to 21 UIs,
then the phy's receiver shall consider the pattern marker to be valid (see figure 78).
If the SAS dword mode is enabled, then during the Train_Tx-SNW if the phy’s receiver detects:
a) a differential high signal level for greater than or equal to 13 UIs and less than 19 UIs;
b) a differential high signal level for greater than 24 UIs;
c) a differential low signal level for greater than or equal to 13 UIs and less than 19 UIs; or
d) a differential low signal level for greater than 21 UIs,
then the phy's receiver shall consider the pattern marker to be invalid.

What should the PTT state machines jump if it detects a differential high signal level for less than 12 UIs in PTT_PL3 state.
Consider it to be invalid and jump to PTT_PL4 state? Or ignore it, stay in PTT_PL3 and start a new detection?

Question2:
I have a question about the condition of Transition SP15.
If optical mode is enabled, and the SP state machine is in SP15 with negation speed is 3Gbps. When the other side send COMINIT using 3Gbps rate, the DWS reset message will not be generated.
Then should the SP state machine transmit from SP15 to SP0?
Hope to receive your reply! Thank you!

Description in SAS3.0 protocol:
5.12.4.10.2 Transition SP15:SAS_PHY_Ready to SP0:OOB_COMINIT
If optical mode is enabled or D.C. mode is enabled, then this transition shall occur after receiving:
a) a DWS Lost message, if this state does not send a Start DWS message;
b) a DWS Lost message followed by a COMINIT Detected message, if this state does not send a Start
DWS message; or
c) a DWS Reset message.
If optical mode is enabled, then this transition shall not occur after receiving a COMINIT Detected message:
a) before receiving a DWS Lost message; or
b) after sending a Start DWS message.
