Hello Munjal -
This reflector is meant for technical development of the draft standards
promulgated by T10, INCITS, and superior Standards bodies. It is not meant
for technical support for any particular implementation.
I sense there is going to be a language disconnect between your question as
asked, and SCSI terminology. As but one example, the term 'boot' does not
seem to appear in any T10 Standard -- draft or otherwise, likely applicable
to your device -- in any context that seems to match that in which you are
using it. Accordingly, I cannot parse your question in SCSI terms.
That said, you might start your investigation with
http://www.t10.org/cgi-bin/ac.pl?t=f&f=sam5r20e.pdf, subclause 6.3.1. Also of
value would be to instrument a number of shipping systems with a protocol
analyzer, and watch the traffic sent between initiator and target at the time
the system is booting.
Other than that, you may find more detailed support in a more appropriate
venue.

Hello Members,
I have query regarding the response from the device while accessing disabled
boot logical unit.
The scenarios is, device contains 8 logical units (LUN=0 to 7) and any of
them can be configured as BOOT LU. Host can access the BOOT LU by sending LUN
= ‘hB0. Now, if the boot feature is disabled in the device and host is trying
to access the BOOT LUN (‘hB0) by driving TEST UNIT READY and READ6/10/16
commands then what could be the response from the device?
Will it send failure response? If yes, then what could be the value of
status, additional sense key and additional sense key qualifier field?
Thanks,
Munjal Mistry
