A new revision of the transmitter training proposal (11-026r4) has been
posted. This is the version that will be discussed on the 5/25 conference
call. If you would like the call-in/web information on the call send me an
e-mail.
The changes from revision 3 are:
a) reordered the valid coefficient update requests table to match the order
the fields appear in the status
field;
b) replaced the Attached Phy's Transmitter Reset Required message with a
default and reference
argument in the Current Coefficient x messages;
c) based the All Coefficients Not Ready message being sent on receiving a
status, other than ready, on
all the coefficients after an Attached Phy's Transmitter Training (Stop)
message is received by the SP
receiver. The All Coefficients Not Ready message is then continuously sent
until an Attached Phy's
Transmitter Training (Start) message is received;
d) removed the requirement to send the reference and default coefficient
settings at least six times;
e) completed the section that contains all the flow diagrams. There are now
examples of the:
A) initialization sequence;
B) handshake of a coefficient increment and decrement requests;
C) handshake of a request for setting the coefficients to their reference
values;
D) completion sequence; and
E) error sequence;
f) changed transmitter training information unit to TTIU;
g) made editorial changes requested at the March phy working group;
h) changed the coefficient settings values to reference_1, reference_2, and
no_equalization;
i) added in a coefficient Request byte the includes the COEFFICIENT 1 REQUEST
field, COEFFICIENT 2
REQUEST field, and COEFFICIENT 3 REQUEST fields;
j) adjusted the valid coefficients update requests table to make it clear
what Coefficient Requests are
valid;
k) add keys and notes to the figures in the correct format;
l) added the restriction that a receiver is not allowed to start training
until it has received an update
complete for all coefficients it requested be changed; and
m) added the restriction that a receiver is not allowed to request a
coefficient change unless all coefficient
statuses are ready.
Bye for now,
