Sorry, somehow my note below isn't all there.
The SSC-4 working group is planning to approve a proposal that portends to 
solve the problems that will be caused when devices start supporting 
greater than 4-byte LBA's.  This includes volumes that could be exchanged 
between a device that supports greater than 4-byte LBA's and a device that 
only supports up to 4-byte LBA's.
If you see any issues with this proposal, please let me know.
