Subject : The Confidentiality and Endorsement Issues re CSS on R SWG
Dear All,
The subjected issues were discussed in the DVD-CCA Board of Directer
meeting today and I got the following response.
With regard to the confidentiality, non-CPAC member cannot have an access
to DVD-CCA (CPAC) confidential information. However, DVD-CCA understands
that the command set discussion can be made without touching the
confidential information, as did the Mt. Fuji group when defining the
original CSS command set. DVD-CCA also noted that if accessing to such
confidential information becomes really necessary, please notify it to
DVD-CCA.
With regard to the endorsement, DVD-CCA has no plan to endorse anything
but understands that Mt. Fuji is the group that can define necessary
command set for the CSS Managed Recording and there is no other group that
has practically the same capability.
In summary, the message from DVD-CCA that I understand is "Go ahead
without touching DVD-CCA (CPAC) confidential information, Please contact
us if accessing to the confidential information becomes really necessary.
We don't think there is any other group than the Mt. Fuji group that can
define necessary command set for the CSS Managed Recording, though we
don't endorse anything".
Best Regards,
Atsushi Ishihara, Toshiba
