Shivram,
Gaps in element addresses are not allowed, it is however possible to disable
some DT elements within the range of contiguous DT elements. Disabled DT
elements have the ED bit set in the RES element descriptor. A disabled DT
element does not need to be physically present in the media changer.

Hi,
Can there be gaps in the element address assignments? For example
drive 1 at address 256 and the next drive at element address 260. SMC
specifies that the range of element address be contiguous and that
they cannot overlap, but there is no mention about gaps within a
range. So can i assume that gaps are allowed.
Please CC me in the reply. Im not subscribed to the list.
Thanks,
Shivram U
