The Identify command information (i.e., the PROTECT bit in the standard 
inquire data and the SPT field in the extended inquire VPD page ) define 
which type of protection the logical unit  supports. This information is 
used by an application client to determine which types of protection it 
can format the logical unit to.
The Read Capacity command information indicates (i.e., the P_TYPE field 
and the PROT_EN bit) the type of protection to which the logical unit has 
been formatted. This information is used by an application client to 
determine the type of protection the logical unit is currently formatted 
to.

Questions regarding protection	mode definitions
All,
There seems to be a difference between the SUPPORTED PROTECTION TYPES 
defined in Table 331 of spc4r04, and the P_TYPE definitions of the READ 
CAPACITY (16) Parameter data defined in Table 43.
The way I read the definitions of these two items sounds like they are 
defining the same thing.
Help ? I am confused
