A question from Hugh Curley reminded me why (probably) the ATTACHED
DEVICE TYPE was added to the REPORT ZONE ROUTE TABLE function in
04-155r2.

The normal REPORT ROUTE INFORMATION function just returns SAS addresses,
so it cannot be used by a management application client running the
discover process as a shortcut for running DISCOVER to each phy because
it doesn't indicate which SAS addresses are those of expanders which
then need to be visited.

By including it in REPORT ZONE ROUTE TABLE, the management application
client might be able to skip the DISCOVERs, provided all it cares about
is collecting addresses from every expander in the topology. =20
