Ai san, thank you very much.

I should have read sentences on page 12 of "Command proposal for Hybrid
disc-3.pdf" more carefully. I was confused that Henry san and members
talked about Immed=1 case in Oct. meeting. So I thought that there might be
difference between Immed=0 and Immed=1.

Ordinary START STOP UNIT command with Immed=0 acts like Immed=1. But there
is a difference.

START STOP UNIT command with Immed=1 will be terminated with good condition
immediately. Then device is 2-4-1 condition always.

START STOP UNIT command with Immed=0 will not be terminated with good
condition immediately. If device becomes ready condition, the command is
terminated. Then device is ready condition. If 5 - 7 sec passed, the
command is terminated to avoid time-out reset from host. Then device is
2-4-1 condition (most case).

Device keeps busy state within 5 - 7 sec. This is the difference. This
helped old CD playback software. CD player closed tray, then checked TOC.
When Read TOC command was terminated with 2-4-1, CD player did not start CD
audio play. (User must press play button again.) So if closing tray and
start up of CD audio disc was finished within 5 - 7 sec, it succeeded.

In the meeting, I thought that Ai san considered such current
implementation. I did not think Ai san defined strictly always Immed=1 when
Layer=1. This is my misunderstanding.

All software venders, could you confirm this point. Regardless of Immed bit
setting, device will report 2-4-1 at Format layer change.

Hello Katata-san, Henry-san and Mt.Fuji members,

Thank you for your prototype of the state diagram. It is very helpful
for us to understand the behavior of the Hybrid disc function.

But some part of it should be modified as I commented in the other
E-mails.

Enclosed please find the state diagram which is conform to the
specification we adopted, I believe.

Main differences are
- There are no path of Format-layer change request with IMMED=0.
- Once the change request is recieved and validated, the online
  Format-layer is changed immediately
- The setting of Profiles, Features and events are described.

Any comments are appreciated.

Best Regards,
