Hi all,
Here is my action item about ASCQ of Write command crossing Layer Jump
point.

Question:
When single Write command is issued crossing the layer jump address, what
error code shall be reported?

Proposals:
 Existing Error Code
5/21/00: LOGICAL BLOCK ADDRESS OUT OF RANGE
This shows that start address is correct, but range is not correct.
      5/21/02: INVALID ADDRESS FOR WRITE
This shows that start address may not be correct, and range may not
be correct.
      5/24/00: INVALID FIELD IN CDB
This shows that some field in CDB is not correct. What?
      3/0C/07: WRITE ERROR. RECOVERY NEEDED
This shows that something is wrong. How to recover?
 New Error Code
      5/21/03: INVALID RANGE FOR WRITE
Creating new error code is too much?

Which do you favor?

Best regards,

Keiji Katata
