I would like to stop the voting of Fuji6. Because we have one discussion item
that is "Update CORE feature version to 2".
I think that if all items of CORE feature V2 that Henry-san mentioned are
optional, then it is OK as editorial changes.
But if they are mandatory to be conformed to Fuji6 specification (maybe MMC5
standard) like DBEvent bit, we need discussion for this new technical change.
I think Bill-san may allow to discuss this issue at the next MMC5.
So could you send your opinion Optional vs. Mandatory by Jan 8th if you may not
attend the next MMC5.
Then after making the proposal sentence of the new CORE feature, I would like to
restart the voting for the new Fuji6 1.00 Draft. The review period for the 2nd
voting round will be two weeks. So please continue your review for the current

$B7oL>(J: Fuji6 rev100 DRAFT -- Request minor changes
These are all comments based on the rev 100 DRAFT spec:
DVD-R DL sections are not clearly titled. To simplify TOC view of finding
DVD-R DL sections, I would like to request the following editorial change:
Create new section 4.17.5 titled "DVD-R DL Layer Jump Recording".
Move current sections 4.17.5 through 4.17.11 under this new section.
Titles of these sections may also be simplified (i.e. "Recording
Unit of Layer Jump Recorder" --> "Recording Unit", "Layer Jump
recording on Invisible/Incomplete RZone" --> "Invisible/Incomplete
RZone recording", etc.)
Sections 4.17.12 and 4.17.13 are renamed 4.17.6 and 4.17.7
17.32 RESERVE TRACK command
Please update sections 17.32.1 and 17.32.2 to indicate ARSV bit
settings for clarity. Also indicate for 17.32.2 that this is the
legacy mode, or swap order of sections 17.32.1 and 17.32.2, as
legacy behavior is often shown first.
17.43 START STOP UNIT command
Please update table 617 (Actions for Eject/Load Disc) to show layer
jump combinations also. Required are:
Operation: Layer Jump to same layer, No media == CHECK CONDITION,
Operation: Layer Jump to same layer, Media Present == No Error, No
Operation: Layer Jump to new layer, Media Present, Locked == CHECK
CONDITION, 5/53/02 == (No Error, No Change) for all cases

In addition, the most recent (rev 100) draft has caused some number of changes
to the number of "valid" or "defined" bits in various commands. Therefore, it
is important that the host can know the logical unit is properly validating the
additional size in the various commands. Rather than updating multiple
features, I think this can be very easily done with a minor modification to the

Although this is a minor change, this final item may not be considered
editorial. I therefore request consideration for this change from member
companies via this reflector. Please consider this change and reply by
reflector if there is any problem with it.
