Hi Tim,

We could adopt it but it would be desirable that it be standardized. In
this case SSC would have to incorporate it.

Adding a command to SMC has also been proposed. I don't know if the MMC and
SBC folks would want it or not.

Hi Michael,

Your (HP's) own 6x40 and 6x24 DAT autoloaders support software magazine
unloading.

             Enhanced Load/Unload (0x1B), byte 5, bit 7.

Dennis, this might be a solution for you as well.  Use a bit in the
unload command to specify magazine unload.
