Hi Susan,

One of my colleagues has asked about the effect of a Reset signal. ADT
currently states that a signal received by the drive on the Reset line will
cause a Port Logout. Do you intend to keep this definition or change it?

Thanks,

I am working on a proposal to define the meaning of hard reset and the reset
options available to the library, in the context of Automation/Drive
Interface (ADI) specifications.

I am sending this email to solicit feedback from library vendors on this
topic. If anyone has any input, please feel free to reply.

My intent is to define three levels of reset options available to the
library. The "softest" would be to use a "Logical Unit Reset" task
management function. The second is via a hardware line which indicates to
the drive to reset the serial communication interface with the library. The
third, for libraries that have the capability, cycle power on the drive.
