Subject: [SRP] Jan 25 Conference Call notes

Attendees

Rob Elliott Compaq
Bob Griswold	Crossroads
George Penokie	IBM
Cris Simpson Intel
John Lohmeyer	LSI
Nathan Obr Microsoft
Ed Gardner Ophidian

John Lohmeyer announced that Cris Simpson will replace Ed Gardner as SRP
Editor and expressed his thanks to Ed for his work.

Reviewed Rob Elliott's comments on 02-004r0 (Model Clause).
Cris accepted Rob's comments, will make corrections, release next week.

Reviewed 02-064r1, Ed Gardner's Solicited Event notification proposal.
General agreement that this should be possible without too much trouble.
Concerns about support (SolEvents not required for IB TCAs).
Still open: Targets shall set SE if requested by init.
May targets set SE when _not_ requested by init?
Ed will release r2 early next week.

Bob Griswold asked about I,T Port IDs (as discussed in Houston)
  1. Flipping positions of the GUID and the extension - accepted

  2. Expressing the extensions in ASCII (UTF-8) IPv6 "colon format"
for the IB ServiceName fields. Marjorie Krueger (HP) advocated
this, lukewarm feelings from rest of group. Cris will contact
Marjorie, will close at Feb 1 meeting.

Feb 8 concall is likely to be poorly attended (T11, iSCSI).
   Will discuss cancelling next week.

Next call:
  Feb 1 0900-1100 PST
  1-888-316-5901, 1-617-801-9781 Passcode: 8774.4560
