INCITS T11.3 Mail Reflector
********************************
Obsolete sounds much better than vendor specific. After all it did have =
a definition for some period of time that people actually implemented. =
I wouldn't want the code re-used for other purposes under the argument =
that it's vendor specific so it can be treated anyway a vendor chooses.

If we make the change in FCP-2, we probably should leave the REC FC-4 =
LS code "vendor specific". If we defer the change until FCP-3, it =
would become "obsolete". In either case, it could not be re-used for =
any standard purpose. Does that take care of the problems?

It would be a good idea not to reassign the encoding, since =
reassignment could greatly complicate life for targets.

Nit:

If implementations treat REC as either an FC-4 or extended link =
service, does that imply the FC-4 encoding should never be reassigned?
