A document reviewed ongoing work on the EXTENDED COPY command
for discussion at the March meetings has been placed on the
T10 FTP site as:

< ftp://ftp.t10.org/t10/document.00/00-171r0.pdf >

The text of the document is as follows.

Doc: T10/00-171r0
Date: 5 March 2000
To: T10 Technical Committee
From: Ralph Weber
Subj: EXTENDED COPY Works in Progress

I've been discussing corrections and enhancements to the EXTENDED
COPY command with members of the SNIA Backup Working Group,
specifically David Chambliss (IBM) and Terence Kelleher (Pathlight).
This document is to inform the T10 Working Group of the areas being
discussed. This is not a proposal for changes.

Corrections:
o Cleanup ambiguities in the definition of CAT=1
o Add details regarding the handling of SILI=1
o Specify how errors are reported for data underrun, data overrun,
    and NO SENSE

Enhancements:
o Provide for handling of "recoverable errors", errors with the
SENSE KEY equal to NO SENSE, RECOVERED ERROR or UNIT ATTENTION
o Provide for read ahead operations
o Add more (optional) tests to the Verify Device Operation segment
    descriptor
o Make RECEIVE COPY RESULTS service action code 1Fh vendor specific
o Add RECEIVE COPY RESULTS service action that returns failure
    details
o Add a "pipe" segment descriptor
o Add a copy inline data to block device segment descriptor
