A proposal for consideration at the March meetings has
been placed on the T10 FTP site as:

< ftp://ftp.t10.org/t10/document.00/00-165r0.pdf >

The proposal is identified as follows:

Doc: T10/00-165r0
Date: 2 March 2000
To: T10 Technical Committee
From: Ralph Weber
Subj: Adding Reserved Bytes to EXTENDED COPY Parameter Data

Regretably, the proposal contains tabular data that translates poorly
to plain text. You will need to download the PDF file to see the
exact proposal.

The gist of the proposal is as follows:

The SNIA (Storage Networking Industry Association) Backup Working
Group is in the process of proposing several corrections and
enhancements to the EXTENDED COPY command. Of immediate concern is
the lack of sufficient reserved bytes in the parameter data header.
Additional proposals will be forthcoming, but all concerned believe
that the problem in the header should be corrected as quickly as
possible.

Therefore, it is proposed that SPC-2 be modified to add 4 reserved
bytes starting at byte 4 of the EXTENDED COPY parameter list shown in
Table 23 (SPC-2 revision 15).
