Subject: Message to T10 regarding requirements for SPI-4

The undersigned companies endorse the following as requirements for SPI-4

Many applications for SPI-4 (Ultra 320) SCSI require expanders to function
as needed. Expanders require certain functionality from initiators and
targets. Therefore SPI-4 must contain as normative requirements the
following:

1. Definition of simple expander port requirements
2. Inclusion of domain validation level 1 in all initiator ports
3. Inclusion of minimal target requirements to support (1) and (2)

Endorsed by:

LSI Logic
Compaq
Adaptec
