For anybody interested in Auxiliary Memory - the attempt to standardise an
access method for data stored in EEPROM on removable media, and related
applications - a major new revision of what has become known as "the MAM
proposal" is now available on the T10 website. This proposal introduces new
SCSI commands for SPC, and incorporates an address discovery mechanism that
is designed to be applicable to many device types. You can find it as
document T10/99-148r2.

HP's Steve Jerman will be presenting this at the SCSI Working Group meeting
on 15 September. If you have any comments on the new proposal, I will be
happy to try to address them before the meeting so that best use can be made
of the limited time.

Regards,
