Lynne, Wally,

There were no transceivers developed for Ultra2 HVD SCSI and Ultra3 does not
allow external transceivers. It requires a 3.5 Watt controller to integrate
HVD SCSI into the controller and a mix of technologies that at this time is
not available on the market.

Lynne,

As I remember, nobody could recall any Ultra 2 HVD products or the
need for them. And there wasn't enough timing margin available
to have an HVD Ultra 3 product, so HVD was dropped from SPI-3.

The earlier specifications still apply for HVD at slower speeds.

Regards,

Wally
