I have revised the proposal for the new EXTENDED COPY command
following the guidelines discussed by the SCSI working group on
5 May. The revised proposal is available from:

< ftp://ftp.symbios.com/pub/standards/io/t10/document.99/99-163r1.pdf >

The major change in r1 is removal of out-of-order segment processing.
The original EXTENDED COPY proposal defined this feature so ambiguously
that the working group could not develop a clear definition for the
new proposal. So, it was agreed to remove the definition until someone
comes forward with more information about the intended functioning
of the feature.

The working group also decided to drop the requirement that copy
managers validate the length field in segment descriptors.

Other changes made in r1 are summarized in the introductory matter
that appears on the two pages preceding the revised command
definitions.

With help from Bob Snively, I expect to prepare one more revision
of this proposal before the July meetings. That revision will
contain formal definitions for the usage of World Wide Names,
NPORT_ID, and D_ID.

Enjoy.

Ralph...
