The editor has jumped the gun and made a change to Table 22 that I believe
was not authorized by T10. As pointed out long ago the apportionment of
bits in Byte 2 of the Standard INQUIRY data format does not align with
activity that is taking place in the relevant standards bodies and trade
association.

This byte causes confusion as to how it should be interpreted.

I suggest that the byte be made obsolete and the machine readable version
proposal be reconsidered. The first part of this suggestion should be the
first step.
