Total of 11 People Present

4. SMC Topics

4.1 SMC comment resolution.

The editors responses to letter ballot comments were passed out at the
meeting, along with revision 9 of SMC incorporating these changes. The
working group agreed to modify the response to five questions. The
revised comment resolution document, (97-247r1) was recommended for
adaption by the Plenary. If approved by the Plenary, the editor will
incorporate these changes in SMC revision 10.

5. SSC Topics

5.1 SSC comment resolution.

Gary Stevens, the SSC technical editor was not present. This topic will
be deferred till the next meeting.

5.2 Conflict between Data compression page and field. (Penokie)

George pointed out that the standard does not specify how to handle the
case where the Data Compression page and the Device Configuration
Page are both sent. The group decided that the field in the Device
Configuration page should be ignored if the Data Compression page is
also sent, and accept this as a valid letter ballot comment.

5.3 Tape and Fibre Channel (97-184r3)

Another discussion was held on problems with tape and Fibre Channel.
Concerns were voiced about out of order delivery problems during error
recovery and what are appropriate timeout values.

6. Other Topics

No other topics were discussed.

7. Meeting Schedule

The next meeting of the SSC/SMC Working Group will be hosted by Adaptec
next September in Palm Springs, California. Actual meeting time will be
determined by the T10 Plenary.

Two teleconferences will also be scheduled after the October T11 meetings
to discuss fibre channel tape devices. Meeting times and phone numbers
will be announced via the T10 and Fibre Channel reflectors.

8. Adjournment

The meeting was adjourned at 10:35 am on Thursday, Sept. 11, 1997.
