Question about data compression

An interesting observation was made concerning SSC, at least at its
revision 10.

I have not found any specification of the interaction between the
SELECT DATA COMPRESSION ALGORITHM value defined in the Device
Configuration Page and the numerous managing fields in the
Data Compression Page.  As an example, after having set up the
Data Compression Page very carefully to compress, can I then disable compression
by setting the SELECT DATA COMPRESSIN ALGORITHM value to zero?

Have I missed something?
