Supporting the FORMAT command is good if you really want to do a low level 
format. Most times, however, what the operating system really does when it 
"formats" is to initialize the media with known data. This is what creates all 
of the different Write ORBs.

Perhaps the RBC command set should include the WRITE SAME command? This command 
allows the iniitator to send one command and only one block of data, but the 
drive will write this block of data to every block location on the drive (or a 
smaller extent if so specified). This seems to adress Ben's and Mike's concerns 
as well as the FORMAT command.
