BUS_RESET is essentially a no-op. The SEP only goes to BUS FREE on a
BUS_RESET. Any state that was written to the SEP is left alone. I.e. the
lights retain their state.

Hi SCSIgurus.

I have been always a silent listener on this list, but yup the time has
come ....

Iam working on a SAF-TE driver, iam working off the specifications from
Conner Peripherals and Intel.

Iam having a concern on how the SAF-TE behaves to BUS_RESET signal or a
BUS_DEVICE_RESET message. The specification says for BUS_DEVICE_RESET message
forces a hard reset condition on the processor device, and enclosure
status and all LEDs return to default values.

1. The specification does not mention any such behaviour for BUS_RESET
response. I would assume its the same as BUS_REVICE_RESET, is that
   correct?

2. So on each bus_reset/bus_device_reset case, the driver should have
the current state of leds and rewrite to return them back to normal?

3. In a multi-hosted situation, then should this be done for each CC we
receive from the SEP, which the sense codes specify 06(Unit Attention) and
ASC (29) poweron reset/busdev reset happened?

I dont have a SAF-TE cab right now, and so dont have the complete specs for
that, could somebody out there help me answer these questions?

many thanks in advance.
