I absolutely agree with Rod.

I absolutely agree with Ralph.

Mike has paraphrased them correctly and drawn reasonable conclusions about
possible implementations.

The only additional thing I want to point out is that the virtual logical unit
created by Rod's and Ralph's discussion really keeps its WWN through
reformatting and all other functions from SCSI. The only thing that
busts it is restructuring using the SCC command set that takes apart
the virtual logical unit, destroys it, and creates a new virtual
logical unit from the remains.
