You might want to consider a couple more I/O-related links for your
list.

http://www.cmpcmm.com/cc/ contains pointers to many standards. It's an
excellent resource.

http://alumni.caltech.edu/~rdv/comp-arch-storage/FAQ-1.html is the
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for the Usenet comp.arch.storage
newsgroup. I should note (modestly :-) that I'm the maintainer of
this. Not the world's best presentation, and lots of gaps, but may be
useful (contributions always appreciated).
