some comments on PLDA tapes using Class 3

I'd backspace and READ POSITION.  If the READ POSITION returned the OLD 
value, I'd write.  If the READ POSITION returned something else, I'd 
probably rewind, skip forward,
and READ POSITION again.  If that didn't work, I'd probably
refuse to touch the tape.
