X3 Announces the Second Public Comment Period for Draft Proposed ANSI
Standard X3.276:199x,  SCSI-3 Controller Commands (SCC)

Washington D.C., September 1995 -- Accredited Standards Committee X3,
Information Technology is announcing the second public review and
comment period for X3.276:199x. The comment period extends from
October 13, 1995 through December 12, 1995.

This standard defines the command set extensions to facilitate operation of
SCSI-3 storage array devices.  The clause(s) of this standard pertaining to
the SCSI-3 storage array device class, implemented in conjunction with the
applicable clauses within any of the SCSI-3 command standards, shall specify
the standard command set available for SCSI-3 storage arrays.  The 
objectives
of this standard are to provide the a) Transfer commands unique to SCSI-3
Controller Command devices; b) Control commands to manage the operation of 
an
SCSI-3 Controller Command device; and c) Optical device mapping and
pass-through support.

This draft was first announced for public review from March 31, 1995 - May
30, 1995.  Due to substantive changes resulting from comments received 
during
the first public review, it is being re-submitted.
