mixing LVDS and SE in same command?

Thank you, Gerry.
You are absolutely right. All the "legacy" drives have their ground,
i.e., "signal+" pins shorted together.
We can still design a driver/receiver that functions under that condition,
but it'll only work just as good as single ended. Why bother?

So it is not tangible to talk about the SCSI bus that can switch back
and forth between SE and LVDS dynamically. It is determined at the
power up and/or when a drive is plugged in/out. And it's in LVDS if
and only if every device on the bus is LVDS.

Rats.
