The notice below was posted to the ATA reflector along with other relevent
messages and documents. It is intended that ATA related items no longer take up
space on this X3T10 reflector. A notable exception is that it is my intention,
assuming John Lohmeyer's agreement that X3T13 liaison reports will be posted on
this reflector following the X3T13 plenary.

TO: X3T13 Technical Committee Potential Participants

SJ: X3T13 MEETING NOTICE January 1996

The organizational plenary meeting of X3T13 will be held January 23-26, 1996
beginning at 0900 in the Crown Sterling Suites, in Milpitas, California, hosted
by Quantum.

X3T13s scope includes all of the interface standards projects relating to the
connection
model described as AT Attachment. At the moment these include ATA, ATA-2,
ATA-3, and ATAPI.
A new project authorization titled ATA + PI is currently being balloted by X3
and will be on the
agenda. All of the current AT Attachment activity has been transferred from
X3T10 which will now
focus all their attention on interface standards projects relating to the
connection model described as
SCSI.

Individuals from organizations with a material interest and expertise (self
proclaimed - no tests
are given) in the AT Attachment connection model are eligible to become members
of X3T13 at the
second plenary meeting they have attended out of three successive X3T13 plenary
meetings. There
can be only one principal member from an organization. The meetings however,
are open to all
attendees practicing proper decorum. The organizational plenary meeting waives
on a one time
only basis the requirement to attend the second meeting to become a member.
Regular
attendance at plenary meetings, responding to letter ballots, and paying fees
invoiced by X3 are
required to maintain membership. The fees will be discussed at the
organizational meeting but in
general consist of a membership fee (for principal members, some alternates,
and official observers);
an international support fee for those committees that have any international
standards projects; and a
subscription fee for those that subscribe to the mailing. The total will depend
upon the estimated
mailings but will likely range between $800 and $1200 for 1996. No fees will be
charged at the
meeting.

                                                                Regards,

                                                                G.E. Milligan
                                                                X3T13 Acting
Chair
