X3 Announces the Public Comment Period of X3.266:199x, Magnetic Tape
Cartridge for Information Interchange - 0.50 in (12.65 mm), Serial
Serpentine, 112-Track 42 500 bpi (1 673 bpmm) DLT2 Format
Washington, D.C. , November 17, 1994 -- Accredited Standards Committee
X3, Information Technology is announcing the public comment period of
X3.266:199x.
The comment period extends from November 25, 1994 through January
24, 1995.
Provides the requirements for a tape cartridge to be used for information
interchange among information-processing sys., communication systems,
and associated equipment utilizing a standard code for information
interchange as agreed upon by the interchange parties. This standard
deals with the requirements for the unrecorded cartridge and for
recording on the enclosed magnetic tape.
A call for patents and pertinent issues (copyrights, trademarks) is now
being issued by the X3 Secretariat.
