Giles,

I had a little arm twisted done to me while I was at the Fast-20 standard
meeting. I will be presenting the issues on hot swapping, leaving two
options, limiting the capacitance on the termpwr line on a device that
is hot swapped, or not connecting termpwr to a device that is hot swapped.

The second is the preference onf the committee members. This will mean
that all other active terminators on devices without termpwr attached
will fail. The Unitrode terminators will not have a problem, or passive
termination with the paks removed will not have a problem.

An issue will be coming up on output drive VOH, limiting the maximum
voltage drive to 3.5V to reduce slew problems, or fast transitions. This
is required for some new 3.3V controllers.

A review of how termination can be done from 3.3V for units that do not
have 5.0 Volts.

Sorry for the late notice,
Paul Aloisi
Unitrode
