Ultra SCSI Meeting

  OFFICE MEMO         Ultra SCSI Meeting                    Date:  3/3/94

(reminder: Ultra SCSI is the 20 Mega transfer proposal from DEC)

The meeting was well attended (about 40 people) and we had a good discussion.  
Conner, DEC, Maxtor, Quantum, and Seagate were represented, as well as a number 
of silicon companies (National, NCR, TI, Cirrus, AMD, Adaptec spring to mind).  
Meeting materials and minutes should be available by the X3T10 meeting in 
Newport Beach this month.

Planned future discussions on Ultra SCSI will occur during the X3T10 working 
group (sometime on Wednesday March 16).  Another local meeting will be held at 
9:30 am on Thursday, March 31 in the Crown Sterling Suites hotel in Milpitas.  
This will probably be an authorized X3T10 working group.  I anticipate more 
meetings during April, and another meeting in conjunction with X3T10 in May.

Given our rate of progress, I believe we have a good chance of reaching 
technical agreement within the 3 month timetable I outlined earlier.
