I agree with Gerry - backward compatibility with SCSI-1 and SCSI-2
is very important.  Note that in general the philospohy which is kindest
is to have a device come up in the old (compatible) mode, then switch
into the newer mode at the explicit direction of the host.  If someone
wants to add a mode page bit/message negotiation to use this new
message scheme, then that would be more reasonable.
