On the ZBC webex held Monday, 2015 Jun 01, one item of discussion was a
comment from Seagate against 15-113r4 to change the ASC/ASCQ reported for
certain cases in the ZC5:Full state. The device manufacturers took an action
item to investigate whether they might be able to support the tightened
requirements.
This comment is reproduced below (the green portion):
4.3.3.2.6.1 ZC5:Full state overview
...
B) for sequential write required zones, the device server shall terminate the
write command with CHECK
CONDITION status, the sense key set to ILLEGAL REQUEST and the additional
sense code set to
INVALID FIELD IN CDB <<<DATA PROTECT / ZONE IS READ ONLY requested by
Seagate>>>;
I am pleased to report that HGST can support this modified requirement.
So concludes the action items from that call.
