Can we obsolete the Read Continuous bit?

I have the impression that the READ CONTINUOUS bit, in the READ WRITE
RECOVERY mode page, is not used by anyone.  I think it boils down to
everyone wanting data that can be trusted, even in video applications. Does
anyone have an application that justifies keeping this feature?
