Hello all,
I posted following file on ftp.
 ftp.avc-pioneer.com/Mtfuji_8/Proposal/Jly11/ATA ATAPI Var.doc
The "ATA ATAPI Var.doc" was sent from Horiuchi-san of Lenovo. He proposed to
add
a host obligation in section "15.3.2 logical unit readiness after power
supply
is resumed".
---- Original Sentence ----
Host may send commands to initialize logical unit interface (e.g. SET
FEATURE:
EFh ATA Command Set) or logical unit mode (MODE SELECT (10) command) as usual
power on cycle at the power resume of Zero Power. The logical unit reports
Unit
Attention Condition for commands that are allowed to report it. Hence, an
Eject
command may be terminated with CHECK CONDITION Status, 6/29/00 POWER ON,
RESET,
OR BUS DEVICE RESET OCCURRED. Until disc ejection finish of Drawer loading
type
by eject command, host ZP software module shall emulate/masquerade.
Host may send commands to initialize logical unit interface (e.g. SET
FEATURE:
EFh ATA Command Set) or logical unit mode (MODE SELECT (10) command) as usual
power on cycle at the power resume of Zero Power.
---- Proposed Sentence to add after above ----
There are variable in drive information then Host initialization is needed to
restore/reset all information just as same as before power omit drive
information. Table "ATA ATAPI Var.doc" shows Drive information change command
and variable table.
---- End of proposal ----
I also posted following files on ftp.
ftp.avc-pioneer.com/Mtfuji_8/Proposal/Jly11/
 Pon-nod-eject-detail.zip
 res-BDMV-detail.zip
 res-DVDRWwriting-detail.zip
 sus-BDMV.zip
 sus-res-nodisc-detail.zip
 sus-DVDRWwriting.zip
These are ATA trace files at Power-on and Suspend-Resume of Win7 Home
Premium,
note PC with BD-writer Drawer drive.
"Pon-nod-eject.txt" (xxxx.txt) is a list of commands that sent from host. You
may search "Cmd:" to pick up a command.
"Pon-nod-eject-detail.txt" (xxxx-detail.txt) is detail data transfered on
SATA
bus. You may search "Command =" to pick up an ATA command.
[Pon-nod-eject-detail.zip]
This is a trace for Power on with no disc and open a tray (drawer) by
pressing
drive ICON on Explorer.
SATA spec. specifies that the highest Transfer Mode is Ultra DMA mode 5. So
it
is fixed value to set. It seems that basically when no medium is installed,
no
more initialization may be necessary.
[sus-BDMV.zip]
This is a trace of suspending the note PC with BDMV disc and BD player
stopped.
[res-BDMV-detail.zip]
This is a trace of resuming the above suspended note PC.
[sus-DVDRWwriting.zip]
This is a trace of suspending the note PC with DVDRW disc and writing it via
live UDF (Explore). The data writing was finished before suspending. You can
see
Sync Cache command at the last.
[res-DVDRWwriting-detail.zip]
This is a trace of resuming the above suspended note PC.
In the case of Suspend-Resume with an application running, the application
software detected the suspend/resume event, then they work well.
I think when we discuss about ZPready for no disc case only, we may not make
"huge host obligations" for ZPODD effort.
Best regards,
Keiji Katata
