Ralph,
I misplaced section 4.52 (table 2), it should be in the section for SPC-4
modifications with the new descriptor type pointing to SBC-3. At this point
the referrals is only intended for block devices.

George,
I am having a little difficulty following which standards
need to be modified in what way.
4.14 appears to be changes in SBC-3, but 4.5.2 appears to
be changes in SPC-4. Specifically, table 2 looks like something
out of SPC-4, not SBC-3.
In any case, I would like to see the SPC-4 changes be limited
to using the Block Commands descriptor (05h) as the model for
how the new descriptor is defined in SPC-4.
All the best,
.Ralph

Kevin,
It's a good idea to start with the model section (4.22).
1) The information on how the information is used is in a the new referrals
model section (4.22). It looks like I lost the reference to that section in
the user data segment size (that I will put back in), but there is one in the
user data segment multiplier description.
2) That's a good question, that needs to be discussed.

George,
I tried to follow this proposal on SCSI Referrals and have the following
comments.
1) 6.3.4 User Data Segment VPD page (this section is all new), seems to
specify what the fields mean when set to zero (or when set to one) but not
when set to a different value.	These fields need to be fully specified.
2) The CbCS permissions are listed for the report logical block referrals
command but I am wondering how the logical block referrals descriptor of the
ne GOOD WITH SENSE DATA is covered by CbCS.
