Dual Ported SAS targets Phy Identifier

Per the SAS spec, they shall be different. The Phy Identifier is unique
within the device, regardless of number of ports. 

It does seem strange to me that this is a requirement for all devices. I
can see the need for it being unique within an expander or SAS port, but
not device. Since the Phy Identifier is used mostly for discovery and
Phy Control, which is generally SAS Address + Phy Identifier.

Does anyone know if dual ported SAS targets will have a unique phy
identifier for each port
or will they be the same?
