The SCSI Management Server Commands (MSC) standard project was initiated
in early 2001 with the intention of defining a set of W-LUNs that could
be used within SCSI targets that would allow applications to collect
information about the target. For example information could be collected
that would allow:

-Management of Target Devices;
-Management of Vitalization Devices; and/or
-Inband Retrieval of Management Information using SCSI commands.

For more information on these see proposal 03-242.

However, no significant or sustained activity has occurred on the MSC
project. If no proposals are brought forward in the next few months that
relate to MSC the T10 committee will cancel the MSC project. If you are
interested and are willing to participate (e.g., writing and supporting
proposals for MSC) in an MSC project then it will continue otherwise it
will end.

Bye for now,
George Penokie
