<<Are we saying that a cable plant that works fine at Fast-20 DT may not
work at Fast-5 or Fast-10 ST?>>
No. We are attempting to say that a cable plant that does not work
fine at Fast-40 ST may work fine at Fast-40 DT.
<< In the end I don't think it matters to those who are designing silicon
with Fast-80 DT in mind (except that the change may
force them to repeat all their slow DT simulations that passed with the old
timings), but it does send a peculiar message.>>
Well I agree with your first half. But the original spec apparently
derived from divergent places and did not add up mathematically. That was a
peculiar message.
<<Another inconsistency is the difference in setup and hold budgets for
Fast-5 (Figure 46). >>
This was not part of my proposal as they are ST and I was not able to
be at the working group when these changes were discussed. The minutes do
not appear to any discussion of these changes. I look forward to whover
made the changes response to your comments concerning Figure 46 and the
related timing.
