I agree with Doug and Gene. Let's tread lightly here. It iseems to me that
there is little effort to keep the optional methods.

There are MANY embedded and other Fibre Channel implementations out there
that look quite different from the "standard SCSI type implmentations". As
an industry consultant, I have seen many of them, but obviously am not
going to list details. It is hard to predict whether any of those will
become mainstream, but one never knows. So why close off doors we don't
need to.
