        SUBJECT:  X3.131-1990 (SCSI-2)

        At the December, 1990 X3T9.2 plenary meeting a motion was passed
        recommending the withdrawal of X3.131-1990 (SCSI-2) to correct
        the errors that were discovered by members of X3T9.2 subsequent
        to the BSR approval.

        It is expected that X3T9 will pass a similar motion on Friday and
        that X3 will act expeditiously in pursuing the withdrawal.

        These errors are typographical in nature and were expected to be
        handled during final edit, as was previously the custom.  With the
        current policy the committee felt they had no other choice except
        to recommend withdrawal of the standard.

        Based on the expected course of events it may be prudent to limit
        the work currently in progress on publishing this document.
