X3T9.2/90-135 4 Sep 1990 NOTICE RE THE "NOVEMBER" X3T9 WORKING GROUP MEETINGS To the members of the X3T9 Task Groups: Texas Instruments welcomes you to the X3T9 Task Group meetings in Austin 29 Oct --2 Nov 1990. Meeting arrangements have again been made at the Stouffer Austin Hotel, 9721 Arboretum Blvd, Austin 78759, 512-343-2626--the same hotel we met at in October, 1986, and November, 1988. It is in the Arboretum, a complex of shops, offices, and restaurants on a crest in the northwest hills section of the city. To make reservations, call the hotel directly, 512-343-2626. Rooms are blocked for ANSI X3T9 until October 8th. The special room rate is $85, or $95 double occupancy. Taxi and limousine service are available from the airport to the hotel. Those driving should hold to the right leaving the airport until they are on Airport Blvd. Then turn right and enter I-35 at the first overpass over Airport Blvd. Leave I-35 at the US183 exit, turning left under the freeway, going toward Lam- pasas. Follow US183 for 4.8 miles and turn left onto Loop 360 (Capital of Texas Highway), by exiting US 183 and crossing over it. Exit Loop 360 at the first right and follow the drive around to the hotel entrance. If we do this again in 1992, you may be able to come out US 183 without driving through construction. Evening entertainment possibilities include a multi-screen theatre right in the Arboretum and innumerable night spots, many in that region of East 6th Street downtown which lies just west of I-35, near the river. Dining possibilities, in addition to the hotel restuarants, include four popular restaurants within walking distance in the Arboretum. Dan McKlusky's is noted for steaks, Charlie Spooner's is strong on seafood, Beijing is Chinese, and TGIFriday's specializes in trendy, lighter dining. Or go on down Loop 360 and exit at RM 2222, turn left and go 0.4 mile to County Line on the Lake, locally famous for barbecued beef ribs. November weather is generally pretty nice, but Texas weather, as is well known, is always unpredictable. At worst, the nights might go down just to freezing or the days up into the high 80's. Rain is always possible, though we've seen very little this year. Forget snow. Give me a call if I can be of assistance. We look forward to seeing you in Austin in "November". D. W.
