X3T9.2/90-82R1 May 31, 1990 Mr. Ben Mattox Robinson Nugent 800 E. 8th St. New Albany, IN 47136 Dear Mr. Mattox, Thank you for your phone call clarifying that the SCSI Terminators and Cables in your ad use the low-density SCSI-1 and SCSI-2 shielded connectors. I assumed that these were high-density connectors. When I called Cablelink to confirm which connector was used, the sales clerk at first did not understand my question. When I asked if these connectors were the same ones as used on the IBM PS/2 Host Adapter she said, "Yes." As you probably know, IBM has elected to use a non-standard high- density ribbon design for this product. Since I knew Robinson Nugent also makes a high-density ribbon connector, I reach the wrong conclusion that these cables use high-density ribbon connectors. I apologize for suggesting that they use a non- standard connector. Sincerely, John Lohmeyer, Chairman X3T9.2 cc: Del Shoemaker, Chairman X3T9 Jean-Paul Emard, Director, X3 Secretariat President, Cablelink, Inc.
