Background
At the April 2008 INCITS Executive Board meeting, the INCITS/T10 request for a waiver of the policy documented in in080329 which applies to RD-1, clause 3.2 was reviewed noting that INCITS/T10 believed that the requirements would place an undue burden on the committee and would prevent it from successfully and efficiently completing its program of work. The following motion was addressed:

The INCITS Executive Board disapproves the INCITS/T10 request for a waiver of RD-1, Section 3.2 - Policy Regarding Document Access and Membership Benefits, as detailed in in080329.
Vote on the motion: 10-0-2 (EMC and Hewlett-Packard)-5=17
The motion passed.
The following action item was assigned:
Action Item (a08.108): The INCITS Secretariat will notify the INCITS/T10 that EB has disapproved request for waiver of RD-1, Section 3.2 - Policy Regarding Document Access and Membership Benefits as detailed in in080329. The Secretariat will convey the EB's encouragement that T10 review the rights of liaisons and FoC to identify how the existing process was not meeting their needs and to provide alternate text that would satisfy their needs as well as those of the EB.
Requested Action
INCITS/T10, SCSI Storage Interfaces, is encouraged to review the rights of liaisons and FoC to identify how the existing process is not meeting the needs of INCITS/T10 and to provide alternate text for RD-1, Section 3.2 - Policy Regarding Document Access and Membership Benefits, that would satisfy the needs of INCITS/T10 as well as those of the EB. The INCITS/T10 contribution should be sent to the INCITS Secretariat (jgarner@itic.org) by June 16, 2008 for consideration at the July 2008 INCITS Executive Board meeting.
