Although I clearly don't mention it on the website, the step response in
question is our 10m cable with pre and post loading. And the jitter and
BER measurement is as per your requirements. The initial results are
looking pretty good, i.e. correlating with v4, and also slightly better
in some cases as I have been able to eliminate a causal error in the
channel response. 
As I state on the website, 8b10b is running now.... results v.soon.
