T10/06-272r3 Report Element Info command Background - does not mention if this command is meant to be an eventual replacement for Read Element Status, but the implication is that it is intended for this. This should be mentioned. And along these lines, section 6.x.6 comments that some RES characteristics are not represented by this command. These characteristics should be addressed or mentioned for inclusion in another new command. section 6.x.4 - comment mentions possible common element locations - add "tier" as a location if they want to standardize. section 6.x.6 - seems to be some overlap and confusion with Static Information page ECBD bit and State descriptor ED bit. section 6.x.6 - what's the difference between State Descriptor FULL and RMVD? Need both? T10/07-199r0 SMC-3 POSITION TO ELEMENT command clarification section 6.8 says The element specified by the DESTINATION ADDRESS field may represent a storage element, an import/export element, a data transfer element, or a medium transport element. Doesn't make sense for medium transport element to be a destiniation since the MTE is what is being positioned. T10/06-442r3 SMC-3 Add PREVEN ALLOW MEDIUM REMOVAL command looks good Tim Pierce IBM Tape Automation Firmware Phone : TL 321-5694 (520)799-5694 FAX : TL 321-2070 (520)799-2070 email : tpierce1@us.ibm.com
